It's no secret that my favorite cookie tool is my projector. I whip up my design on my laptop, plug in my projector and get decorating. Here's how I create my designs right on my computer!
Screenshots & Google Slides/Powerpoint
Would you believe me if I told you I designed my wedding invitations using powerpoint? Well, I did! Here's a picture of them! I use the same process for my cookies.

First things first, here's why I like using powerpoint/slides...text boxes. I like being able to add text to different text boxes and then arrange them on the page without having to worry about the line formatting like I do when typing in a word doc. Sometimes I will use the fonts that are already in powerpoint, but most of the time I will find my pretty fonts on DaFont.com. Here's where the screenshots come in.

I choose a category to look through. Then, in the search bar at the top, I type whatever word or phrase I want on my cookie. I look through the different fonts, find one I like, screenshot it (if you're not sure how to do a screenshot on your computer, just do a quick google search!), and copy and paste it onto my slide! I repeat the process for any other text I might want. A lot of the time I will take screenshots of each word in a phrase and paste them onto a slide so that
I can arrange them how I like and change the size.
Here is a classic Bride to Be example!

Once I have my screenshots arranged in a way that I like, I project it on my cookie and start piping!
Another great tool for creating designs is Canva.
Designing with Canva
Canva is a free online tool that I love using for all kind of marketing materials and design projects. (You can also pay for their Pro version and have more access to other features and additional templates, but I just stick with the free version). I use Canva similar to how I would use powerpoint/slides. Canva is great because it has some pre-made font templates under the "text" section. This is an easy way to create an aesthetically pleasing design! Canva is also my go to when I want to create a design with curved text. There are so many design options with canva (most of which I don't use too often for cookie decorating), but when it comes to needing some extra design ideas, it's great!

So, as always, nothing too fancy from me! Those are my simple design tool secrets for creating beautiful cookies!
